The Center for Women reaches over 6,000 women in the Lowcountry every year! Our mission is to help women succeed both personally and professionally every day.
The Center for Women offers a wide range of educational programs and support services. We present or collaborate on 70 programs and events annually. In our twice monthly Brown Bag Lunch Series, we offer free, one hour workshops on emotional, physical, and financial health topics for women of all ages. Our monthly Entrepreneurial Women Series evening workshops provide networking opportunities and explore topics vital to business and career achievements. We host Legal Clinics and provide on-site professional Counseling by licensed therapists. Additionally, Support Groups are formed every quarter.
In 2008, we launched the You Can Do It! Series offering in-depth, personal development workshops and a Women Writers Forum on the art and business of writing. We also began holding programs in Summerville and East of the Cooper.
Each March, in the partnership with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Women presents the full-day Women in Business Conference to help women grow their skills and network with community leaders. "It's in the Bag" Silent Purse Auction and Reception is one of our largest fundraisers and is the don't-miss, fun event for women every April.
